Fresh Beat at the Confederation Park

Hi everyone,

Martin Michalowski, all volunteers and I (Steve Martin), are really looking to see you all at the first edition of Ottawa’s electronic festival: Fresh Beat presented by Sleeman.

THIS SATURDAY August 21st from Noon to 9 PM. (Free event, no cover)

In an urban prime location downtown Ottawa around the nice water fountain of the Confederation Park (corner of Elgin and Laurier), Fresh Beat will sure steam up the place. Prepare your dancing shoes, your house music helmet, your sandwich and don’t forget your friends cause, this will be the event to remember this summer.

1 day, free, focussed, simple, high quality music, it is all about passion for electronic music.

WE NEED YOUR HELP AND SUPPORT:
During the event we need your support. There will be a Red Bull bar where Fresh Beat will be selling water and Red Bull. PLEASE BUY these products from US to help pay for the event cost. We will sell them at a very low price so you can buy more and buy your friend’s a round or two.

Also there will be a couple of spots where you will be abe to make a VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTION. If you feel like giving us a looney, $5, $20 or whatever amount you feel, we will be grateful, and this will help us a lot. If not, it’s ok we will forgive you, but we might make fun of the way you dress.

First edition of the electronic music festival Fresh Beat organized by partner Martin Michalowski, and the event manager Steve Martin.

On August 21st, 2010, from noon to 9 PM, Fresh Beat will host it’s first electronic music event in Ottawa at the NCC’s Confederation Park. Fresh Beat promotes and fosters local and Canadian talents of electronic music producers and DJs. In the Ottawa-Gatineau area there are a number of good electronic music producers/DJs that are having an impact on the local, National and International electronic music scene. Our objective is to showcase these local talents through Fresh Beat.

This will be a free event, but Fresh Beat’s organizers are encouraging the public to offer a voluntary contribution to help cover the cost of the event.  This will be an electronic music gathering in a calm, friendly, and family oriented environment in the beautiful Confederation Park of the National Capital.  While enjoying a hot summer afternoon and early evening, the public will be able to relax, picnic, dance around the beautiful Confederation Park’s water fountain downtown Ottawa, while listening to high quality electronic music.

This event will be held in a central prime urban location of the of the National Capital, and will be very accessible to the general public using bicycle paths, walking by, using public transportation or using nearby parking facilities.

Fresh Beat’s mission is to foster Canadian electronic musical talents.  Fresh Beat wants to be positioned as professional, open minded, innovative, respectful and creative.  Fresh Beat will offer high quality programming, which will include sometiames old school, innovative, audacious (yet respectful) with a wide variety of electronic music genres.

Fresh Beat will appeal to both beginners and fans of electronic music. At the event the public will be invited to experience all different variations of electronic music and a showcase of highly talented Canadians.
