Easton Ellis Jun 8th, 9th

Easton Ellis this week on Fresh Beat. This House Music DJ Mix will be aired Friday at 9PM EST on CJFO FM 94,5 Ottawa, Saturday 6PM EST on, CFAI FM 101.1 and 105.1 + stream at 11PM AST or 10 EST, and CFBO FM 90.7 12 PM AST or 11 PM EST.

As fate would have it, it was his love of audio and visual equipment that brought Easton Ellis to the world of DJing. Easton can now truly say that his love for spinning those bangin’, hard, dirty beats has given him the opportunity to dj for Canadian, U.S., and International house music lovers.

It all began with a landmark residency in November 1999 that brought Easton to Kitchener, ON., where he helped open and run the city’s first after-hours club, Felicity’s. From there he went to Toronto, ON., a mecca for house music, and played at such renowned clubs as Comfort Zone, System Sound Bar, Film Lounge, & Pulse. While honing his dj’ing skills in Toronto, he played alongside such prominent DJ’s as Mark Scaife, Addy, Dekoze, Kosmic, Mica, and Paranoid Jack. From there, Easton crossed national borders and set up residency alongside DJ Tricks @ The Falls in Tampa, FL. and set up a Friday night residency @ Nation in Washington, D.C.

Although he enjoyed being a part of the U.S. house scene, Easton realized that it was time to be true to his roots and moved back to his hometown of Ottawa, ON. in 2004 and promptly started his own weekly residency @ Club MTL. Now firmly entrenched in the house music scene, Easton has played at every EDM venue in the city, including Surface After-hours (opening for world-renowned DJ Martin Villeneuve), Helsinki, Aqua, Club MTL, and Heaven Superclub (where such renowned DJs Martin Villeneuve and Max Graham were residents).

A DJ’s dream, Easton was asked to open for legendary DJ’s Paul Oakenfold and Benji Solis @ Le Boom in Cancun, Mexico. He has been fortunate enough to play in Cancun several years in a row playing at such well known clubs Fat Tuesday’s and Dady Rock and Cafe Del Mar in the Mayan Riveira.

If one word could best describe Easton’s style it would be versatile. He has solidly proven his ability to fluidly spin all genres of house music, from minimal to tech to glitchy electro, with the ease of a DJ born to be.
